16. Lola and the Boy Next Door

***Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion...she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit--more sparkly, more fun, more wild--the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

When Cricket--a gifted inventor--steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.***

Ahhhhhhh the very interesting lives of Lola and Cricket :)
Lola is NOT your typical teenager. She is wild (fashion-wise) that she often makes her own clothes. She wears the most unique pieces, sparkly and glittery. She wears wigs too. She has lots of 'em in her room. She lives with her two dads (yes, gay couple, there's nothing wrong with that). They both hate Lola's rocker boyfriend although Lola's very very much in love with him.
Everything seemed to be just fine until one day,  she saw Cricket and Calliope, the Bell twins. (Oh yeah. They're related to Graham Bell, the inventor.) And that's when everything started to be out of control.

If you've read Anna and the French Kiss, you should read this too. I bet you'll love who you'll meet in one of the chapters in this book.

PS: read Anna and the French Kiss first then Lola and the Boy Next Door.

Bisous!!!

Love,

15. Anna and the French Kiss

***Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?***

Oh my goodness. Who won't fall in love with Etienne? The looks, the brains and the accent. Woohoo. I've been reading a lot of good reviews about this book on Goodreads... I'm sad it took me  a little while to finally read this book but I am very very happy to have finally decided to read about Anna and Etienne.

Anna is the new girl in an American boarding school located at the heart of Paris. On her first night, she met Etienne's very good girl friend who is secretly in love with him. That's when Anna got the ticket to enter the life of Etienne St. Clair!!!

I love this book so much. One because of course, it happened in Paris. I was writing while reading because the book also teaches you basic French words. :) Two because Etienne is just so charming and lovable and with that accent- holy guacamole. =)) Three, because it ended so well. I mean, they've been through a lot... from Etienne having a serious girlfriend to the secretly-in-love-close-girl-friend to the scattered thoughts of both Anna and Etienne. I almost lost my faith that they'd end up together. *sigh

And then... Stephanie Perkins heard my prayers. Haha.

It's a very much-read chick-lit. It's very entertaining, very light, veryouthful. If someone took a video while I was reading this, I bet I looked silly from laughing, smiling and all those kinda stuff. :">

So, if you want to fall in love, read this book. Now

PS: since Stephanie Perkins is a great great author, she posted something on her blog. Ahhhh yes!!! Here's the DELETED chapter of Anna and the French Kiss...
